SIMPLE PLC COMMUNICATION FUNCTION For iQ-F Series [FX5U, FX5UJ, FX5UC]

SIMPLE PLC COMMUNICATION FUNCTION



FX5U/FX5UC CPU module is supported. (Firmware version "1.210" and above)

This function allows data communications between specified devices at the specified timing just by doing simple settings from a programming tool. Specify one device (transmission source) to one device (transmission destination). The communications are performed between the specified devices.



The following maximum number of devices can be connected communication destination.
- FX5UJ CPU module: 8 devices
- FX5U/FX5UC CPU module: 16 devices

FX5UJ can communicate only MELSEC iQ-F and SLMP (3E frame)

MELSEC iQ-F IP Address Set

1. Setting IP Address of FX5U

Navigation > Parameter > FX5UCPU > Module parameter > Ethernet Port


1. Select [Ethernet Port]
2. Select [Basic Settings] > [Own Nodes Setting]
3. Set [IP Address], [Subnet Mask] and [Default Gateway] for built-in Ethernet port


2. Setting Simple PLC Communication

Navigation > Parameter > FX5UCPU > Module parameter > Ethernet Port


1. Select [Ethernet Port]
2. Select [Application Settings] > [Simple PLC Communication Setting]
3. Set [To Use or Not to Use Simple PLC Communication] to “Use”
4. Double-click “” of the [Simple PLC Communication Setting]


3. Setting Item for communication

Double-click “” , the setting item will display on screen.


Communication Pattern

Setting Item

READ
Read the data of the specified destination device (transmission source) to the specified device of the host station (transmission destination).
WRITE
Write the data of the specified device of the host station (transmission source) to the specified destination device (transmission destination).

Communication Setting and Execution Interval

Execution Interval (ms) Execution interval is set. 10ms to 65535ms

Communication Destination (IP Address)

Set the devices for both transmission source and transmission destination.
- FX5UJ CPU module: 8 devices
- FX5U/FX5UC CPU module: 16 devices

Bit and Word device setting.
User can set bit (or word) for read/write from source data to destination data. Type of data setting depend on Device type selected.
Example setting No.1 : Communication pattern is Read” word data “D0-D19” of “MELSEC iQ-F” [IP Address 192.168.3.21] to “D0-D19” of Host station [IP Address 192.168.3.20]
Example setting No.2 : Communication pattern is Write” word data “D20-D39” of Host station [IP Address 192.168.3.20] to “D20-D39” of “MELSEC iQ-F” [IP Address 192.168.3.21]

Select [Apply] for confirm “Simple PLC communication” setting
